Chen Avin, our first guest in Vienna, presents recent results from our G.I.F. project on demand-aware and self-adjusting network designs. The advent of technologies that allow to reconfigure the physical network topology introduces intriguing opportunities to optimize the network toward the traffic pattern it serves. This is similar in spirit to concepts used in coding theory and self-adjusting datastructures, as pointed out in the talk.
